The Set Up

Livestock — cows in particular — are sources of nonstop methane gas, which gets released from their stomachs as they digest food. Okay, so what? Well, methane that enters the atmosphere traps 30X more heat than carbon dioxide, making it Global Warming's best friend.

Pledge Summary

  • WHAT —  Eat red meat only once a week or less
  • WHEN   Continuously
  • WHY — From cow to plate, red meat causes some major global warming

Three Reasons to Sign Up

We love our sizzlin' steaks, but we don't want our earth to sizzle.

1

Around 10% of global greenhouse gases come directly from cattle.

2

Red meat eaters are at an increased risk of death from heart disease, stroke or diabetes.

3

Save some cash. Red meat tends to cost significantly more than other protein options.

Final Thoughts

We all love our steaks, so we're not asking you to give up red meat entirely, we just want you to consciously choose it less often. If you can pledge to do your small part of eating red meat only once a week or less, then together we can fight back against global warming in a big way.
